Soalheiro - Espumante Bruto Rosé
Monção e Melgaço, Portugal
About this Wine
Salmon pink in color with fine and persistent bubbles. Aromas and taste are elegant and delicate with red fruit and brioche standing out. The flavor is persistent and very long with a beautiful complexity.
The grapes, Touriga Nacional (red), Alvarinho (white), and Pinot Noir (red), are produced in vineyards that promote a balance between sugars and acids perfect for making sparkling wine. The grapes come from vineyards on granitic soils between 100 and 200 meters above sea level and are located in a very particular microclimate. The Melgaço region, the northern point of Portugal, is protected by a range of mountains that create the perfect conditions of rainfall, temperature and number of hours of sunshine required for a slow and balanced maturation for making high quality sparkling wines.
Perfect as an aperitif or to toast with friends, it's also an excellent companion for lighter dishes such as salads, delicate cheeses, shellfish, or sushi.
