Jiménez-Landi El Corralón, Sierra De Gredos (2021)
Méntrida, Spain
About the wine
Garnet red, this wine is expressive. Aromas of ripe, brambly red and black fruit and sun-scorched earth. The palate is fruit-driven, juicy and well-balanced, with flavors of red currant, dark cherry compote and blackberry pie. Medium-bodied with tongue-coating, firm tannins through the long, peppery finish.
"A perfumed nose of raspberries, cherries, orange peel, nutmeg, porcini, and dried herbs. Some peppercorns, too. It's medium bodied with fine-grained tannins and lively acidity. Transparent, juicy, and vibrant." - 92 points, James Suckling
The area of Méntrida has been producing wine since the 12th century and is known to produce wines that are robust, tannic and age-worthy. Bodegas Jimenez Landi's walls date back to the 16th century where their ancestors would make wine in the old vats. The current winery was founded in the middle of the 20th century. By inheritance, Pedro Jimenez Landi is the sole owner of the estate which will then be passed down to his sons Antonio and Pedro. Bodegas Jimenez Landi farm a total of 20 hectares organically. They carry out a respectful agricultural approach to the environment with the notion that great, healthy fruit makes for amazing wine.
Pairs well with Lamb, Beef, Veal, Poultry, and Pasta.
The Jiménez-Landi El Corralón, Sierra De Gredos (2021) wine is currently part of the Paint It Red | Red Wine Collection offered exclusively by WyneTyme.
