About the wine

One of the most interesting wines coming out of Austria today! Winemaker Stefan Wellanschitz comes from a storied winemaking family, yet named his own winery after the local word for "unconventional thinker" - Kolfok. Eschewing traditional, he has focused on natural and organic methods of crafting wines. This second vintage of Intra! red is 100% organically farmed Blaufrankisch grapes from a cool north facing vineyard. Destemmed, intracellular fermentation. Aging takes place in large used 1,200 liter Austrian barrels. No additives are used in the process, and it's aged without stirring the lees.

It's a fresh, bright, and spicy dry red with black plum and sour cherry notes. Very quaffable and best slightly chilled.
