WyneTyme Delivers Thoughtful eCommerce
It’s Earth Day and the Interwebs will undoubtedly be filled with the best green-washing money can buy. The WyneTyme team thought about sitting this one out but sustainability is a big deal around here.
Making It Easier to Access Great Wine
First, our company is the path for small-production winemakers to sell their outstanding products to consumers. If you like to #shopsmall and #supportsmallbusiness, WyneTyme checks those boxes for you.
Since most retailers will only deal in large volumes, these boutique winemakers were left to fend for themselves with chefs and sommeliers who understand the art of wine and the jackpot of small-production wines available. Our collections are made of outstanding wines from the best wine regions in the world - taking something that was once hard to discover and harder to source and making it easy and accessible to everyone.
A Different Kind of Wine Company
Second, too many ecommerce brands print and package like they have a Planet B. We’ve received more than our share of junkmail inserts promoting the latest ecommerce wine company. And we’ve seen how other companies - wine industry or not - package their products with plastic and other unrecyclable materials. And don’t forget the dreaded inserts that just get thrown away. Our team of GenX-born, startup fugitives brought a healthy dose of skepticism and ingenuity to “the way it's always been done.”
Our packaging was designed to minimize waste. Our wine bottles are secured in specially- designed, corrugated structures that are both protective and fully biodegradable. ALL of our packaging and shipping materials are recyclable, right down to the packing tape. So yeah, throw it in the recycling or compost bin when you’re finished.
Inside the box, we opted for a minimalist aesthetic. That’s not to say it’s without style. The idea that you can’t have both great aesthetics and responsible materials is just wrong - because we did it. See how cute? [insert pic of inside of box]
Everything has a function and our “marketing” takes its cue from consent principles - if you want it, you got it! If it’s not for you, we respect your boundaries (and your prerogative to change your mind at any time.)
The way that comes to life is by leaning into technology (and simultaneously throwing shade to so-called “wine brands” who try to pass off the wine they bottled as something more than generic leftovers.) In order to share more about our spectacular wines, each bottle has a unique QR code.
If you’re keen to learn more about the wine and the winemaker that produced it, scan the code to visit the “Wine Diary” on our site. All boutique wines have a story. If your wine doesn’t have a story, it was probably made in a lab.
So, that’s OUR story - or at least, the sustainability side of it. We’re doing our best to make the world of wine (and the world overall) a better place. Come along and taste for yourself.
